Hanging its curtain along a side street in Daimon, the izakaya Ichimon takes the guesswork out of dinner with an easygoing omakase format that keeps drinks and food flowing comfortably. Dishes arrive in well-paced succession, opening with thick, fresh cuts of assorted sashimi and continuing with satisfying plates such as crisp tempura.

A well-loved fixture toward the end of the meal is the fragrant yaki-onigiri, slowly toasted over heat until crisp on the outside. All-you-can-drink plans are also on offer, letting guests linger over rounds of drinks alongside the generous portions.

Ichimon operates from Monday to Saturday during the evening hours, accepting advance reservations as well as credit card payments. It makes an easy, unpretentious stop for relaxing with colleagues after work or sharing a slow round of drinks among close friends.
